Two new faces have been added to the Board of Directors of the Fondation Médicale des Laurentides et des Pays-d’en-Haut. Jean Dumas and Bénédicte Masse-Desjardins are replacing Stéphane Bourassa and Jean-Paul Sauriol.
The owner of the Canadian Tire store in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Mr. Dumas, has been very involved in the community since his arrival two years ago. “Mr. Dumas can really help the Fondation Médicale thanks to his contacts and his knowledge,” explains the Fondation Médicale’s executive director, Daniel Desjardins.
He recently donated the equivalent of $10,000 worth of shelving units to the Fondation Médicale des Laurentides et des Pays-d’en-Haut to enable it to better display the goods for sale at the Trésors de la Fondation thrift shop. “Jean Dumas believes in the Fondation Médicale’s mission,” Mr. Desjardins tells us. He is very conscious of the “orphan patients” who don’t have a family doctor.
Bénédicte Masse-Desjardins is the daughter of Dr. Marc Desjardins, one of the founders of the Fondation Médicale more than 26 years ago. “Bénédicte wants to be part of this great adventure and pursue the work begun by her father,” says Daniel Desjardins. Since June 2014 she has been the head of marketing for the Tremblant Resort Association. Before that, she held a number of positions at Productions J alongside Julie Schneider.

“We are delighted by the appointment of these new members. At the same time, we would like to thank Stéphane Bourassa and Jean-Paul Sauriol for their devotion and their involvement,” Mr. Desjardins emphasizes. Mr. Bourassa was a member of the Board of Directors from 2009 to 2016 and was on the executive committee from 2013 to 2016. Me Annie-Claude Ménard from l’Équipe Laurence will succeed him in that position.
